Biography

Gwen is an ESPRC-funded PhD student and is part of a cohort studying Synthetic Cells. She is co-supervised by Dr. Ravinash Krishna Kumar and Prof. Doryen Bubeck. Her project concerns engineering synthetic tissues for the targeted release of therapeutics.

Before joining the biopattern lab, she completed an integrated master’s in biochemistry at the University of Bristol. In her final year, she worked with Dr Minkoo Ahn to investigate the protein dynamics of transcribing nascent chains on the ribosome using NMR spectroscopy.

In her free time, Gwen enjoys sewing, baking, and going to the cinema.
