Alongside collaborators from Imperial College London, King’s College London, University College London, Northwestern University and University of Michigan, Niall attended the DevCell Kickoff Workshop hosted at the Nucleus labs by b.next.

The workshop focused on training for encapsulating Nucelus Cytosol within synthetic cells for cell-free protein expression. Additionally, the researchers were introduced to Nucelus, which is an open-source platform for documentation around synthetic cell development. The researchers from different institutions will collaborate on a project for one year, with the London node focusing on using synthetic cells to detect and respond to bacterial contamination.
